The Le@rning Federation Schools Online Curriculum Content Initiative

Distribution models

The Le@rning Federation works with education authorities to distribute digital resources. TLF has arrangements in place with these authorities to deliver content through portals and through software applications designed to assist teachers and students to access and use the content for education.

There are two main distribution models.

  • When working with partner institutions TLF can package a digitised resource (in IMS format) with its metadata and distribute it to the portals of education authorities.
  • Alternatively, TLF can distribute the metadata to each authority so that users will be directed back to the website of the partner institution to access the digitised resource.

In both distribution models TLF and the partner institution's brands are distributed. Included with the metadata is a Conditions of use statement that outlines what the user is permitted to do with the digitised resource.
